Jonas Pedersen has given the lecture "European Law and National Parliamentary Sovereignty" at the American University Washington College of Law, on October 22, 2014.

Description: No one is equal to or above the parliament. This is the most fundamental concept of the Danish political tradition. Hence there has been no tradition of judicial review by Danish courts. Through the example of Denmark this lecture will focus on the challenges to national legal and constitutional traditions when a Member State has to integrate into the legal system of the European Union.
